The symptoms were always there looking back on my life. I would always get sick and miss months of the school year. My systems never worked right from horrible cycles to cavities in almost every tooth. The doctors would give me a prescription and send me home. Little did I know they were all connected to one thing.

In 1999, with even more deteriorating health, I went on a gluten free diet. Wow, what a difference it made! Within 3 days I lost 10 lbs. I didn’t realize how swollen I was. That started my healing process. It’s been a long road but by sticking to my diet I have been able to heal my gut and improve my health.

The first time I went into the grocery store I was there for three hours! I read every label on the food I normally would eat and started searching for alternative products. Every aisle was now off-limits except for the fruits and veggies. I left crying, exhausted and without buying anything! That started my online searches. Most of the food I ordered online tasted like cardboard and went into the trash. What a waste of time and money!

My long list of no-no foods are as follows:
Gluten, corn, soy, dairy, almonds, tomatoes, oranges, beef, chicken and eggs.

Today things are much better but the process is still daunting and that’s why I am here to help you in your transition into allergy friendly foods you will love!

  1. My mom has recently started down this road with a Celiac’s Disease diagnosis. She was crushed to learn that some of the staples she had been consuming (margarine, peanut butter, and cooking spray) were inhibiting her recovery. We’ve become so careful since it seems that gluten is in even the most innocent-looking items. Thanks for informing readers about products you have tried!

    • Hi Traci,
Thank you for letting me know! I feel her pain. There are so many products out there and many of the big companies are getting on board as well. Please have her contact me with any questions she might have or if she just needs a listening ear. I’ve been where she is and can help. Take care!
