The symptoms were always there looking back on my life. I would always get sick and miss months of the school year. My systems never worked right from horrible cycles to cavities in almost every tooth. The doctors would give me a prescription and send me home. Little did I know they were all connected to one thing.
In 1999, with even more deteriorating health, I went on a gluten free diet. Wow, what a difference it made! Within 3 days I lost 10 lbs. I didn’t realize how swollen I was. That started my healing process. It’s been a long road but by sticking to my diet I have been able to heal my gut and improve my health.
The first time I went into the grocery store I was there for three hours! I read every label on the food I normally would eat and started searching for alternative products. Every aisle was now off-limits except for the fruits and veggies. I left crying, exhausted and without buying anything! That started my online searches. Most of the food I ordered online tasted like cardboard and went into the trash. What a waste of time and money!
My long list of no-no foods are as follows:
Gluten, corn, soy, dairy, almonds, tomatoes, oranges, beef, chicken and eggs.
Today things are much better but the process is still daunting and that’s why I am here to help you in your transition into allergy friendly foods you will love!
